Let’s be honest—raising kids in Broward County comes with a never-ending to-do list. Between school drop-offs, soccer practice, dentist appointments, birthday parties, and figuring out what’s for dinner (again), finding businesses you can actually trust makes life so much easier. That’s exactly why we put together this list. At Kimling’s, we’re all about celebrating the…
There’s a sub shop sitting right in our plaza that some people probably drive past without thinking twice. And we get it… from the outside, it’s not trying to compete with big chains or do anything over the top. It’s just there… sign says Fat Freddy’s Subs, and there’s usually that big red “OPEN” balloon…
Summer sounds great… until you’re actually in it. No school. No routine. Kids home all day. And somehow you’re still expected to get everything done like nothing changed. For a lot of parents, especially the ones we talk to every single year, summer quickly turns into a mix of stress, guilt, and trying to keep…
December is one of our favorite times of the year. The weather finally cools down, the kids get a break from school, and families get a chance to slow down, reconnect, and enjoy the season. And because we’re parents too, we know how overwhelming it can feel trying to figure out what to do, what’s…
It’s crazy how fast the school year moves—one minute we’re back-to-school shopping, the next we’re staring at report cards wondering where the time went. As parents here in Fort Lauderdale, this is the moment to pause and ask . . . Is my child where they need to be academically? We’ve seen it over and…

That’s why we’ve rounded up some of the safest, family-friendly…

So it’s official . . . Fort Lauderdale’s back-to-school tax-free period is happening from July 20th through August 20, 2026—and if you’re a parent, teacher, or student in Broward County, this is your golden window to save big. Clothing, school supplies, and even computers (yes, up to $1,500!) are sales tax–exempt. But don’t grab your…
If your kid has ever come home from camp talking a mile a minute about bowling, the food, and “that place with the cool lights,” they’re probably talking about Manor Lanes. Every summer, without fail, we load up the vans and head over there—kids buzzing with excitement, already talking about strikes before we even pull…
Let’s face it—technology is everywhere, and raising kids in a world where they have instant access to just about anything can be tough. It’s getting harder to shield them from inappropriate content, but that makes it even more important for us as parents to stay on top of what they’re doing on their devices. Cell…
